Local PPC
Local PPC
Recently, GEO targeting PPC campaigns have proved very popular, so for example, if you are a local electrician in Cardiff, you wouldn’t want calls to repair a short circuit in Aberdeen! Recent developments have allowed this sort of GEO targeting. However, a person based in Aberdeen, may have a property in Cardiff that needs an electrician – so how do we get around this?
Google now displays your location derived from your IP address. You have the option to change this but it will always default to that IP location.
If you use the GEO targeting tool with Google Adwords, your ad will be restricted to the restrictions that you have set! You will therefore need to set up two campaigns:
Campaign 1
The first campaign will select the local GEO target, Cardiff, then use terms such as: electrician, rewiring contractors, electrical contractors etc.
Campaign 2
The second campaign should be set to a national coverage, but taken great care to only use terms that include the location, for example, electrician Cardiff, Cardiff rewiring contractors, electrical contractors Cardiff.
This is a simplistic look at the subject of local PPC – we have trained Adwords personnel to help you set up and run your campaigns.
